Village of 400 h. in the province of Huesca.  This town possesses some callejas flanked by houses at times blasonadas slide to the Greater square.  In the top are conserved in part the walls of the Moslem fortress, regained very quick by the Christians and adosado since the beginning of the century XII, to a church.  In the renaissance, the building was replaced by the present one colegiata whose interior is enriched with several works of art (the Sacred Family of one of the chapels is attributed to Murillo) the cloister, in which the styles are mixed románico and mudéjar, archaic preserve capiteles that date of the construction of the first church, as well as fresh of the century XV. 

The urban helmet causes goes back to the Average Age, with its paved and narrow streets.  And the Colegiata (National Monument), of Islamic origin, is elevated on a rosco hill.  It was monastery benedictino and its origins are mended al s. XI.  They are from this epoch the Tower of the Vigía, some sections of wall, the highest tower and some fragment of this church románica integrated in the cloister of the s. XIV. emphasize the capiteles of the school of San Juan of the Rock (s.  XII). 

In the s. XIV the architect Juan of Sure built the colossal one colegiata of Holy María, composed of a ship and ábside poligonal, with vaults of crucería crashed. 

It is important the greater altarpiece and a Christ románico of the s. XIII, considered unique piece.  Since the cloister is agreed al Museum of Art Sacro, with pieces that go of the s. XII al XV. 

There is a permanent guide for the Colegiata and the Museum, both visitables. 

Since there excursions can be carried out on foot to the fund of the river Saw.  In this zone numerous caves with paintings can be found rupestres, the majority of the Age of Bronze. 

Alquezár is center of the region of the Saw of Guara, that has been declared recently park with the denomination of Park of the Saw and of the Tubes of the Saw of Guara.
